Council met in regular session with H.W. Ford presiding. Councilman Evan Stout, David Andes, Myrna Walline, George Andreas, Stuart Vogts were present. Also present were Jan Nolde, Scott Unruh, Brantley Unruh, and Staci Curl.

Councilman Walline made a motion to accept the previous meeting minutes. Councilman Vogts seconded and motion passed.

Councilman Walline made a motion to accept the reconcilement statement as presented. Councilman Vogts seconded and motion passed. A financial statement was presented showing a balance of 4,142,428.53.

Councilman Walline made a motion to allow the bills. Councilman Vogts seconded and motion passed.

Jan Nolde presented council with the 2017 Audit Report. Councilman Walline made a motion to approve the Audit report as presented and to pay the bill for the 75% contract for the audit. Council

Vogts seconded and motion passed.

Public: Lori stated the Easter Egg Hunt had a terrific turnout. Councilman Walline made a comment that Staci had a good article in the paper.

Councilman Walline made a motion to give $200.00 toward the construction of the Royalty Float. Councilman Andreas seconded and motion passed.

Councilman Stuart Vogts resigned as council member. Council and City employees stated he would be missed and thanked him for his service. Councilman Andreas made a motion to accept his resignation. Council Stout seconded and motion passed. Mayor Ford thanked Stuart Vogts for his hard work on the council and presented him with the City of Galva Medallion.

Brantley Unruh gave his monthly report: He stated in the S. Quarter of the trailer park the cement has been hauled off and the old electric lines had been pulled out.

They also have been trimming trees around town, filled pot holes, serviced lawn mowers, and worked on sewer.

Brantley also said we had nitrates and arsenic test taken and they were fine.

Councilman Andreas approved the building permit for Darren Ehrlich for a workshop in his back yard. Councilman Vogts seconded and motion passed 4 yes, 1 no.

Police Chief Curl gave her report: She stated she had training, suicides, domestic, and talk to peddlers around town.

Councilman Andes made a motion to purchase 2 speed signs to check car speeds around town.

Councilman Walline seconded and motion passed.

Councilman Andreas made a motion to accept the bid from Rylan Becker Construction for $19,928.00 with the reimbursement of $1,274.00 from JB Warren for the driveway to the stone building on the west side of the 100 block of S. Main curb with a bid for the remainder of the project for next month’s meeting. Councilman Walline seconded and motion passed.

Scott Unruh was present and appointed to take over the rest of Stuart Vogts position. He will be sworn in at next month council meeting.
