1. See Tied Up in Knotts
Actress Karen Knotts, the daughter of the legendary actor Don Knotts, will present “Tied Up in Knotts” at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the McPherson Opera House.
This one-woman show about growing up and performing with her famous father, who played Barney Fife on the Andy Griffith Show, is Karen’s loving tribute to the man that raised her; complete with song, dance, character acting, and all the love and humor you could expect from the daughter of the celebrated actor.
It’s a show about growing up in the celebrity-filled world of Mayberry and wanting to follow in her father’s acting footsteps.
Karen tells stories about her legendary dad and shares fond memories of visiting the set of Mayberry, seeing cast members like Ron Howard (Opie) and Frances Bavier (Aunt Bea), plus appearances in over 22 other shows and films.
“When my father, Don Knotts, passed away in February 2006, I wanted to pay tribute to him in the way I knew him best: as an amazing loving dad,” Karen Knotts said.
