Everyone knows Twice Told Tales has a passion for books.

But they also have a passion for encouraging others to read — especially children.

Twice Told Tales is partnering with U.S. Cellular to put on Story Time with at 11 a.m. on April 21 in the children’s section of the store, at 104 S. Main St. in McPherson.

“We have an enormous passion here for imagination, story telling and literacy and we are so excited to share that,” Jessica Niemeyer, owner of Twice Told Tales, said.

Niemeyer also said she is ecstatic to promote literacy with another business in McPherson.

“U.S. Cellular asked us if we’d like to partner with them and we’re really excited to accept their offer again. We’ve partnered with them once before and really enjoyed working with their management to promote literacy in our community,”

During the event, U.S. Cellular helped sponsor a toryteller for Twice Told Tales who will be reading out loud to the kids.

For Niemeyer, seeing the joy on children’s faces during these events means the world to her.

“Story time is such a fun time to get kiddos excited about reading. They love the illustrations. It is such a joy to see their faces light up when they recognize a character or are entranced by a story,” she said.

For children who attend story time, a surprise awaits them at the end of the event.

“Most importantly, we’re excited to give out a free book to the kiddos to take home after the event thanks to U.S. Cellular. Reading to a child helps to build up their empathy skills and sparks imagination,” she said.
