Jaclan “Jackie” Kaye Lanam, 76, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2018, surrounded by family at McPherson Hospital. Jackie worked as a C.N.A. at Grace and St. Elizabeth hospitals and as a cashier at Wal-Mart.
Jackie was born on March 1, 1942, in Pratt, KS, the daughter of Melvin Francis “Jack” and Laree Eileen (Cannon) Taylor.
She attended schools in Winfield, Ark City, and graduated from Hutchinson High School. She also attended Central Christian College, McPherson. She married first husband, Carl L. Cavanaugh, and later married Charles D. Lanam.
He preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 2014.
Survivors include: four children, Randy Cavanaugh of McPherson, Mike Cavanaugh and wife, Lori, of McPherson, Kim Dreiling and husband, Tim, of Hutchinson, and Diana Sandoval of Edmond, Oklahoma; three sisters, Janice Bean of McPherson, Jolene Watkins and husband, Wes, of Wichita, and Linda Whitson and husband, Gary, of Altamont, KS; nine grandchildren, Randy Cavanaugh, Jr., Bridgett Collins, Dakota Cavanaugh, Makayla Cavanaugh, Amber Mettlen, Amber Dreiling, Shawna Galloway, Courtney Postier, and Roman Sandoval; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: parents; husband; daughter, Michelle Diane Lanam; grandsons, Travis Dreiling and Rion Sandoval; and granddaughter, Jessa Nicole Cavanaugh.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2018, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 12, at First United Methodist Church, McPherson with Pastor Lacey Wheeler and Reverand Karen Rice Ratzlaff officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
