Margaret Ann Ash, 72, of Parsons, passed away at 8:32 a.m., May 4, 2018 at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center.
She was born on February 24, 1946 at Wichita, she chose John Oliver and Margaret (Pankratz) Ash to be her parents. She grew up at Roxbury, and attended schools there and graduated from Salina High School.
She resided at the Westview Nursing Center at Peabody and the Topeka State Hospital before moving the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center in 1996. She worked at Copies and More on the Parsons State Hospital Campus.
She enjoyed shopping, listening to Christian and Country music, reading her Bible, volunteering with community projects, going out to eat, going to casinos, visiting with family and friends, and being outdoors with her dog, Rudy. She attended the First Baptist Church in Parsons.
Among her survivors are a sister, Joan Ash of McPherson; her aunt, Melba Folmsbee of Lawrenceville, Illinois; Cousins, Eddie Junior Ash, Beacon, New York, Lynn Ash, Assaria, George Ash, Valley Center, David Ash and Bill Ash, Salina, her guardian Sandra Kruse of Gypsum, Curt Folmsnbee of Bethalto, Illinois, Dale and Kenny Hudson, Lindsborg, Becky Nestleroad, Sumner, Illinois, Nancy Ash Scanlan, Gypsum, and Judy Kolancy, Loveland, Colorado, her Pankratz cousins, her lifelong Crowther family of Roxbury; and her Parsons State Hospital and Training Center family.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Chaplain Randy Cook officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center Endowment Fund and these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home 112 N. 26th St., P.O. Box 942 Parsons, KS 67357. Graveside services will be Friday May 18, 2018 at the Eureka Cemetery north of Roxbury, with a luncheon provide by the Roxbury Presbyterian Church women at the church, memorials may be made to the Roxbury Presbyterian Church.
