MOUNDRIDGE — Authorities in Moundridge are investigating an anonymous threat purportedly sent in a text message at about 7 a.m. to a student whose parents informed police.
According to a message from USD 423 superintendent George Leary, the threat referenced a possible shooting at Moundridge High School on Tuesday morning.
Leary said school officials are working with Moundridge Police and the McPherson County Sheriff's Office to investigate.
McPherson County Sheriff Jerry Montagne said the school was not locked down but extra precautionary measures were taken at the high school — with law enforcement on the scene.
Parents were offered the option of picking up their children or giving permission for their release. However, Leary said, some students still had final exams.
   No further updates were available.
