Martin D. Stucky, 90, of McPherson, passed away at 2:30 a.m., Thursday, while in the company of family members at Brookdale in McPherson.
He was born in McPherson, on March 9, 1928, a son of Elizabeth (Krehbiel) and David R. Stucky.
He attended the Mount Pleasant Country School and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, in 1945.
While in High School, Martin was a member of the FFA.
He belonged to First Mennonite Church McPherson, where he served his church in many capacities.
He was a farmer, shepherd, and he worked on the insulation crew for Modern Insulation and Chem Star Products as a warehouse supervisor both of McPherson.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, taking care of his sheep, farming, watching his sons and grandkids in their activities.
He was united in marriage to Evelyn Mae Schrag on Feb. 14, 1952, at the Hopefield Mennonite Church, Moundridge. She died on June 25, 1991. Martin was united in marriage to Ruth K. Gamber on April 17, 1993, at Whitestone Mennonite Church. Ruth died on Oct. 10, 2016.
He is survived by his children Gary L. Stucky and his wife, Amber, of McPherson; Glenn R. Stucky and his wife, Robin, of McPherson; and Brian K. Stucky and his wife, Connie, of McPherson; his sisters Ruby Goering, of Inman; and Ellen Voth, of Hesston. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and to great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Evelyn; a brother Marvin Stucky; his second wife Ruth and a great-granddaughter Amelia Stucky. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the First Mennonite Church.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the McPherson Cemetery in McPherson.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at First Mennonite Church, McPherson, with Pastor Rose Marie Zook Barber officiating.
