MCPHERSON -- McPherson County Attorney Greg Benefiel will seek to try the 17-year-old defendant in Monday's fatal shooting as an adult.
Benefiel made the motion at a hearing Thursday afternoon in McPherson County District Court. Noah Bratcher has been charged with first-degree murder, burglary, theft and possession of stolen property in connection with the shooting at Mustang Mobile Park.
Magistrate Judge Steve Hilgers set a hearing for 10:30 a.m. on June 29 to decide the issue.
Police found Jordan Krell, 22, of Canton, lying in an empty lot dead of an apparent gunshot wound around 12:25 a.m. in the 400 block of Dales Draw. Krell's funeral services are set for Monday at the Glidden-Ediger Chapel in McPherson.
Bratcher is being held without bond. Attorney Geoffrey Harrison with McDonald Law, in Newton, represented Bratcher at the hearing.
