On June 26, at 6:19 p.m., Officers with the McPherson Police Department responded to the Walmart store at 205 S. Centennial Drive in McPherson, in reference to a bomb threat that was called into the store. Officers cordoned off the area, and store management made the decision to evacuate the store.
The McPherson Police Department requested assistance from the Kansas Highway Patrol, who sent Troopers with explosive detection K-9’s to assist with searching the store.
After a thorough search of the store with the K-9’s, no explosive devices were found, and store management made the determination to reopen the store. Investigation into the bomb threat continues by McPherson Police Department Investigations Bureau.
