Claude W. Koehn, 88, of Galva, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, surrounded by family at The Cedars, McPherson.  

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  

Claude retired after 38 years from the NCRA Refinery where he worked in the Cat Unit and was a welding planner.

Claude was born on June 16, 1930, in Chickasha, the son of Jonas Cornelius and Amanda (Schmidt) Koehn. 

He graduated from Galva High School in 1948. 

He was united in marriage to Dixie L. Crouse on June 12, 1953, in Galva.  She preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 2018.

He was a member of Galva United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: four children, Pat Lorson (Don) Galva, Jim Koehn (Rhonda) of Galva, Jack Koehn (Kathy) of Fremont Hills, Mo., and Joe Koehn of Galva; brother, Vernon “Ham” Koehn of McPherson; nine grandchildren, Derek Lorson (Sarah), Leah Inman, Jaime Smith (Bryon), Kylee Richardson (Ty), Megan Howard (RA), Allison Koehn, Bo Koehn (Kendra), Taylor Koehn, and MacKenzie Koehn; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, and five sisters.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 2 p.m  to 4 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 15, at Galva United Methodist Church with theRev. Mike Miller officiating.  Burial will follow at Empire Cemetery, Galva.
