Thanks to a donation by a local library patron and film enthusiast, the McPherson Public Library has expanded its collection of American Film Classics with the addition of over 125 new titles in DVD and VHS format.
The films in the American Film Classics collection range from the 1920s to the 1960s and represent a wide variety of movie genres and actors.  “This collection was amazing even before this latest donation,” said library director Steve Read.  “It keeps getting better.”
The donor, who has chosen to remain anonymous, has given some 450 films to the library since 2006.   Since then, the American Film Classics have proven to be very popular with many patrons – both those who remember watching them in a movie theatre as well as those who are viewing them for the first time.
