Donald A. Swanson passed away on Jan. 13, 2012, at the Kingswood Manor Health Center in Kansas City, Mo. after a lengthy illness.
He is survived by a cousin Marvin Swanson and wife Ann, also of Kansas City.
Don was born on Nov. 4, 1926, in McPherson where he attended grade and high schools until his family moved to Denver.
After graduating from Denver University, he moved to Washington, D.C., where he worked for the Housing and Urban Development Department of the federal government until he retired in 1995.
He then moved to Des Moines, Iowa, and later to Kansas City to be closer to family.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Anna (Berglund) Swanson of Denver.
