A new SurveyUSA poll, conducted July 24-26, shows a three-way tie for the lead of the 1st Congressional District Seat. Tim Huelskamp, Jim Barnett and Tracey Mann all polled with 24 percent of the vote. Rob Wasinger trailed in fourth with 12 percent of the vote, Sue Bolda earned 7 percent of the vote and Marck Cobb got 2 percent of the vote. The undecided vote has fallen to 7 percent.

The survey was conducted after a slew of activity for the 1st District candidates including: Club for Growth releasing its ad campaign against Barnett, The Hutchinson News and Salina Journal canceling their endorsements on Mann and Wasinger announcing his seven new television advertisements. Meaning bad press may sometimes be good press and even a lot of press can't deliver a large amount of votes.
