With the distance crews having competed in Friday night's KT Woodman Classic Collegiate Distance Carnival, the sprints, relays and field events took center stage at Saturday's Bethel Invitational at Thresher Stadium.

McPherson posted 173 points to win the men's team race, while the women placed fourth with 70 points.

Amy Braimbridge posted the only national qualifying mark at the event, achieving a personal record and an NAIA B standard with a winning time of 24.92 in the 200. Diamond Blaylock-Norris, Phalisha Perkins and Ane' Archuleta also posted PRs in the 200.

Miaya Sample posted a sub-13.00 time in the 100.

The Bulldog women also received event wins from Jasmine Helms in the triple jump and the 400 relay squad of Sample, Blaylock-Norris, Chantelle Theron and Braimbridge. Helms also took second in the long jump as did the 4x400 relay team of Blaylock-Norris, Braimbridge, Cierra Lee and Sample.

The McPherson men won five events and posted nine personal records. J'Moi Penn won the 200, missing a PR by just .04. He also took fourth in the 100 as three different Bulldogs posted sub-11.0 times. Hunter Sury was third in the 100 and second in the 200 with a PR. Myles Sample also achieved a PR in the 200, placing eighth, while also finishing seventh in the 100. Deshawn Pfeiff won the 400.

In the hurdle events, Ronnie Floyd won the 400. Amari Heisser took second in the 400 hurdles with a PR and fourth in the 110-meter hurdles.

The 400 relay team of Penn, Michael "Ali" Childs, Floyd and Sury won, while Jordan Windholz took the triple jump.

McPherson also posted runner-up finishes from Cain Fowles in the high jump and javelin throw, Myles Sample in the triple jump, Chris Linnin in the long jump and Childs in the pole vault. The 4x400 relay team of Marlon Clayton, Floyd, Demetres Greenwood and Pfeiff also took second.

In the throwing events, Tanner Trigg placed third in the discus throw and set personal records in the shot put and hammer throw. Miguel Isidro also set PRs in the hammer throw and javelin throw.

The Bulldogs are back in action April 22, at the Tabor College Invitational in Hillsboro.
