There must be something in the water — four schools in McPherson County have qualified for the state tournament.

Each school from a different class will head to different arenas to compete. The McPherson High School boys basketball team holds the No. 1 seed in the 4A-DI class and will face No. 8 Spring Hill High school in Salina. The Lady Pups hold the No. 3 seed and will face No.6 seed Augusta High School.

After having the best season in school history and winning the sub-state championship, the Elyria Christian School boys basketball team holds the No. 2 seed and will head to Dodge City to face No. 7 Axtell High School.

The Inman High School boys and girls basketball teams could be the cinderella story in their class after winning their sub-state title. As the underdogs, both hold the No. 8 seed and will face the top-seeded Claflin-Central Plains High School in Manhattan.

After a strong finish, the Smoky Valley High School boys basketball team holds the No. 7 seed and will face Andale High School at White Auditorium in Emporia.
