ABILENE — The top-ranked McPherson High School boys tennis team will be sending all six players to state after a successful day one at regionals in Abilene. The same can be said for the Smoky Valley High School Vikings. 

The Bullpups have advanced all four entries into the semifinals starting Friday morning, while the Vikings have advance three out of four entires to the semifinals. Smoky Valley’s Laurence Dahlsten (13-16) will play for fifth. 

McPherson’s Jarrod Nowak (27-3) will face Smoky Valley’s Cole Brumbaugh (18-10), while McPherson’s Andrew Snell (27-5) will battle Abilene’s Jase West (24-4) in the other singles semifinals. 

In doubles, it will be an all-McPherson doubles matchup between Nolan Schrader and Kaden Stewart (31-1) against Jackson Schrader and Rhett Edmonson (20-13). The winner will face the winner of the other semifinal, which features an all-Smoky Valley matchup between Matt Lucas and Jake Lucas (22-6) and Nick Reinert and Johanna Rauchholz (21-5). 

Day two of regionals begins at 10 a.m. in Abilene.
