WICHITA—ESPN3 and WatchESPN will televise two McPherson contests this season, including the Bulldogs early season encounter against Southwestern (Kan.) from McPherson Stadium to a national audience.
The McPherson-Southwestern game, scheduled Saturday, Sept. 15, will kick off at 7 p.m. CT, ESPN and the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) announced Monday afternoon.
The Red and White's affair at Sterling (Kan.) Nov. 3 will also appear on the ESPN family of networks.
The KCAC is partnering with Tourbeau Sports Group to broadcast the 11-game series, with one contest each Saturday being the league's Game of the Week.
ESPN3 streamed the Southwestern College at Friends University football game last season, as well as Championship Monday for both men's and women's basketball at Hartman Arena in February. The KCAC is taking it to the next level by featuring each football member school twice during the 11-week football schedule.
Games will be available on the WatchESPN and ESPN+ apps that are accessible through mobile technology as well as through RoKu, Apple TV, Android TV, and Hulu that broadcast programming on smart TVs and other devices.
The series of games will be simulcast live by Great Plains Television in the Wichita market on channel 30.1 Retro TV (antenna)/ channel 51 (ATT U-Verse) each week.
In addition, the KCAC will have a Radio Network Game of the Week at two McPherson road contests - at Bethel (Kan.) Oct. 6 and at Tabor (Kan.) Oct. 27. This is the fourth year of the KCAC Radio Network powered by Rocking M Media.
KCAC Football Media Day, sponsored by IMA, Inc. and Dissinger Reed, is set for Friday at Crestview Country Club in Wichita, Kan. The event will be streamed live via the KCAC Digital Network starting at 11:30 a.m. when head coaches take the podium.
The Bulldogs report for fall preseason training Aug. 8. McPherson returns a slew of All-KCAC performers from a season ago, including first team pick Jackson Goodmiller, who finished 2017 with 51 catches for 527 yards and eight touchdowns.
