The white team defeated the red squad, 3-2, in McPherson's annual intrasquad scrimmage inside the Sport Center Saturday afternoon. The white team won by scores of 25-19, 21-25, 25-22, 19-25 and 15-13.
McPherson split its roster into two teams following a draft earlier in the week.
The Bulldogs travel to Sterling (Kan.) for their final exhibition Wednesday, Aug. 22, before opening the season Aug. 24 with matches against Avila (Mo.) and Oklahoma Wesleyan in the second annual Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conferenc (KCAC) Fall Fling inside the Hutchinson Sports Arena in Hutchinson, Kan.
McPherson returns 94 percent of its roster, including all four of its All-KCAC performers - Lexi Kite, Jamie Siess, Devrie Sombers, Riley Bradbury - from last year. Kite was a repeat first-team selection. Siess was voted to the second team, while Sombers and Bradbury were third-team honorees for a squad that ranked 21st in the NAIA in digs per game. Kite and Siess were named to the 2018 All-KCAC Preseason Team on Aug. 10.
