OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—The Central Christian College men's golf team competed the past two days in the prestigious UC Ferguson Tournament, hosted by Oklahoma City University.
The men played 36 holes on Tuesday, then wrapped up the tournament with 18 holes on Wednesday. The Tigers opened the tournament with a 309, then bounced back in the second round with a 298. On Wednesday, they were back north of 300 with a 307 to finish the tournament with three round total of 914, placing them in 14th place as a team.
The low round of the tournament for the Tigers came from Collin Duckworth on the #1 bag. Duckworth opened with a 77, then shot a one under par 70 in the second 18. He wrapped up the tournament with a 75 in the final round, giving him a three round total of 222 which landed him in a tie for 46th place. The rest of the Tiger scores and finishes are listed below.
One of the highlights of the tournament for the Tigers was Trehern McGill knocking in an Eagle on the 527 yard par 5, 13th hole in today's final round.
"I am proud of the way we played", said Central head coach Kyle Moody. "We are getting better each time on the course. We will head back to range this week to get ready for our home tournament."
As Coach Moody eluded to, the next competition is next Monday and Tuesday in the Central Kansas Classic, the Tigers' home tournament played at Turkey Creek Golf Course.
