The Central Christian College men's soccer team improved to 6-0 on the season by defeating the Barclay College Bears 21-0, setting a school record for most goals in a game.
The Bears were overmatched from the start, giving up 15 goals to the Tigers in the opening 45 minutes of play and then six more in the second half with the reserve players playing the entire half. The Tigers scored their 21 goals on 61 total shots, 35 of which were on goal. Defensively they didn't allow a single shot.
The goals were scored by Leslie Feh (three), Matias Nunez (two), Andy Quintanilla (two), Carlos Arias (two), Andres Silva, Lucas Chirife, Cole Housh, Juan Adrian Lopez, Daniel Ramirez, Ian Harris, Tomas Adaos, Kevin Dos Santos, Joe Cox, Fransisco Echandi, and Nicolas Lupo.
Central head coach, Aaron Hoxie, commented on the game saying, "Good game all around from everyone. I think the score has more to do with tactics than personnel. We just ate the high line up. Happy for the guys that got their first college goals."
This is the second game in a row in which their opponent was overmatched. They will get a much better test on Saturday when Dakota Wesleyan University comes to town. The CCCK Tigers and DWU Tigers will square off Saturday evening at 6:00 pm.
