Second verse, same as the first.
McPherson High’s boys repeated their victory over Maize from 13 days ago, but this time in even more resounding fashion.
The Bullpups unleashed perhaps their best quarter of the year here Friday night with a 24-point second-period salvo to key a 75-60 victory over a team MHS coach Kurt Kinnamon believes will qualify for 6A state.
MHS moved to 13-1 with three weeks left in the regular season, as it appears headed for the No. 1 seed in the upcoming sub-state, which it will be hosting for the first time in an eternity.
“I really felt the first half was about as well as we’ve played all year,” Kinnamon said, as his team led 38-26 because of that scintillating second quarter. “From a standpoint of being alert, from a standpoint of moving the basketball and finishing plays.”
