WILDCATS TAKE 2 FROM TEUTONS

MOUNDRIDGE – In a cross-county battle royal on Friday, both the Moundridge boys and girls scored hard fought victories over Inman with the Lady Wildcats winning by six, 41-35 while the Wildcat boys, ranked 9th in Class 2A, out dueled the Teutons, winning by 18, 51-33.

This Saturday we celebrated Kansas Day, noting our state’s beginnings and contributions to this nation. We have much to be proud of — our fields are rich with wheat, corn and soybeans, and our pastures are filled with cattle. The state has ample food produced right here in our communities.

Assisted living residents lack right to appeal involuntary discharge

TOPEKA — Early-onset Alzheimer’s disease led to rancher Charles Imthurn’s placement in a Kansas assisted living facility and it was dementia that prompted his involuntary discharge. Imthurn’s wife, Rachel, said the facility providing care for her husband and five other Alzheimer’s patients with issues related to memory, thinking and behavior decided without warning to get out of that line of business.
