TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Democrats in Kansas filed a third lawsuit Tuesday against a congressional redistricting law enacted by the Republican-controlled Legislature, arguing that GOP gerrymandering aimed to “practically void” Democratic votes in the liberal enclave of Lawrence.

MINNEAPOLIS – The Smoky Valley boys basketball team finished their play at sub-state just like their season, the finished 1-1 with a dominating 30-point, 61-31, win on Monday over Ellsworth before finishing their season on Thursday with a 15-point, 57-42, loss to Southeast of Saline.
BURRTON – The Little River girls moved a step closer to making a trip to the Class 1A Division I state tournament by taking down Macksville by 16, 52-35, on Friday in sub-state play. The win gives the Lady Redskins a glistening 19-1 mark for the season as they were to battle St.
WHITEWATER – It was a true rubber match of county rivals on Friday at the Class 2A sub-state in Whitewater as the Inman boys battled and managed to out dual Moundridge by three points, 43-40, to advance to the substate championship game on Saturday.
STAFFORD – After both teams sitting for a week with first round byes, the Elyria Christian boys and girls hit the hardwood in Class 1A Division II sub-state action with the Eagle boys suffering a heartbreaking twopoint, 41-39 loss to Pawnee Heights on Thursday before the Lady Eagles scored a dominating 38-point, 58-20 win on Friday over Stafford.
