MCPHERSON – The McPherson softball program got the 2022 season underway on the road Thursday playing at Andale/Garden Plain and came home with a season opening split of their doubleheader. The Lady Bullpups scored three runs in the sixth of game one to pull away for a 6-3 win before Andale/Garden Plain used their own five run sixth in game two to take a two-run, 7-5 win from McPherson.

South Maxwell Street in McPherson was expected to open Friday afternoon after a large sinkhole forced part of the road to close Monday near the entrance to Turkey Creek Development.
