MCPHERSON – Spring doesn’t always produce the nicest of weather conditions during the spring sports season, but mother nature has been less than cooperative thus far. Mother nature made yet another appearance Friday evening when she turned a typical windy day in Kansas to a dust bowl during McPherson’s 3-0 victory over Circle at McPherson Stadium.
MCPHERSON – Downtown McPherson holds a special place and historic building, which would be the Opera House. Recently, however, history has been brought to the Opera House as the historic musical “The Sound of Music” was performed in the form of a community play from Thursday through Sunday.

Are we wasting our money purchasing bottled water that says, “includes electrolytes”? I came across an electrolyte powder that can be added to water. DOUGLASS – At the Douglass Track/Field Invitational Tuesday, the Little River Redskins won both the boys and girls meets while the Canton/Galva boys finished second, just two points behind Little River.
EMPORIA, Kansas – For the second time in as many meets, the McPherson High School girls swim team took home first place as they competed in a meet in Emporia on Thursday afternoon. After winning first place in Hutchinson on Tuesday, the Bullpups came right back and tallied 490.5 team points to claim the meet, which was well over 100 points ahead of second place Garden City who put up 374 team points.
SALINA, Kansas – It was an unusual day for high school baseball. McPherson was part of a three-way triangular held in Salina at Dean Evans Stadium Tuesday afternoon which the Bullpups swept, but the two games had everything from a 10th inning go-ahead triple, to a grand slam, to an unlikely hero in game one.
GOESSEL – At a meet in Goessel hosted by Elyria Christian, the Inman boys, and girls track/field teams both took second in the team standings on Tuesday. For the Teuton boys, the scored 126 points to finish well behind meet champion Goessel who had 192.
LITTLE RIVER – On Tuesday, the Little River baseball team improved to 12-3 for the season with a home field sweep of their doubleheader with Spearville, winning game one 9-6 before blowing out the visitors 18-2 in the nightcap.
