MCPHERSON – There has been a new recipient elected for the 2022 Agriculture Future of America (AFA) Scholarship for McPherson County, and it will go to Fort Hays State University junior Ashley Achilles.
MCPHERSON – Tennis was not the only thing on the minds of players and coaches on Saturday, April, 16th when the McPherson Bullpups competed in and won second in the Doug Gayer Classic tennis tournament held at McPherson High School.

Seventy-five years after the end of WWII, Mildred Schindler Janzen, 93 of Ellsworth, KS, finally decided to tell her story. Janzen was a teenager when Russian soldiers invaded their peaceful family farm in the German countryside and changed the course of her life forever.

LINDSBORG – Hosting a doubleheader on Thursday the Smoky Valley softball team suffered through a rough couple of outings as Halstead came in and beat the Lady Vikings 11-6 and 15-3 while hammering out 30 hits.
LINDSBORG – When you host an 11-team track/ field meet, it is okay to do well and that was the story for the Smoky Valley track/field teams on Thursday as they scored a team win for the girls while the boys finished fourth at the Smoky Valley Track/Field Invitational.
INMAN – It was a doubleheader that pitted county rivals Moundridge on the road at Inman on the baseball diamond where they put up some very gaudy numbers on Thursday before the Wildcats scored a two-game sweep, winning 16-13 and 10-8 over the Teutons.
LAWRENCE, Kansas – Per usual, the top teams in sports play against other top quality opponents. The McPherson Bullpups have found themselves in that category during the 2022 baseball season, as they competed in the prestigious River City Tournament in Lawrence, Kansas on Friday, April 15th and defeated the Lee’s Summit West Titans 8-2 in the Bullpup’s only game of the tournament.
