Importance of safe travels throughout Independence Day and summer

This upcoming holiday weekend will be celebrated by many hitting the road and traveling to and through the Sunflower State. The Kansas Turnpike Authority, Kansas Department of Transportation, and the Kansas Highway Patrol are partnering to remind motorists the importance of traveling safely during Independence Day and throughout the rest of the summer.

Governor Declares Drought Emergency, Warnings and Watches for Kansas Counties

The Governor’s Drought Response Team examines conditions; and recommends updates to the Governor Effective June 27, Governor Laura Kelly has approved updated drought declarations for Kansas counties with Executive Order #22-06. This drought declaration places all 105 Kansas counties either in watch, warning or emergency status.

Great Bend- Rockie Joe Jones, 75, passed away on June 20, 2022, at home in Great Bend, Kansas. He was born on July 17, 1946, at Pittsburg, Kansas to Earl and Noami (Neil) Jones. Rockie married Patricia Jarvis on January 05, 1971, in McPherson, Kansas. She survives.
