SALINA, Kansas – A total of nine girl wrestlers represented McPherson County at the class 4A1A girls state wrestling tournament on Wednesday and Thursday, as three of those girls came away with a medal, which included a state championship.

SALINA, Kansas – At the conclusion of 812 wrestling matches in a four-day span, McPherson County racked up six medalists as three of those six came from the McPherson and Smoky Valley boys’ wrestling teams following the class 4A boys state wrestling tournament on Friday and Saturday.
It was a busy week for the five of the six area high schools with Little River, Moundridge, Inman and Smoky Valley all closing out their 2022-24 regular seasons in basketball though Canton/Galva got an early start on Class 1A Division I sub-state play.
