Stanion Wholesale Electric was founded in 1961 by T.J “Jud” and Bobbe Stanion in Pratt, Kans. The couple purchased an electrical repair and supply business and decided they wanted it to be a wholesale company instead.
MCPHERSON, KAN------ The McPherson County Community Foundation’s (MCCF) annual matching event enters its ninth year of helping build the endowments of local partnering non-profits. Match Week, formally known as Match Day, will take place during the week of Mar. 6-10. A total of $385,000 was raised during the event last year, a record for MCCF.
Plans for the annual Inman Classic Car Show and Spring Fling Festival are underway. The event will take place in downtown Inman, KS on April 22 with registration beginning at 8 a.m.
All are welcome to join the fun at the 15th annual Mennonite Central Committee Comforter Blitz on March 6, 7 and 8 at Journey Mennonite Church at the Yoder Campus, one mile north of Yoder, Kansas. Blitz times are Monday and Tuesday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, and Wednesday, 9:00am to 4:00pm.
The January 12, 1888, blizzard will be the focus for Lois Preheim, author and educator, who will be the speaker at the annual meeting of the Swiss Mennonite Cultural and Historical Association. Her book, “Trailing the Schoolchildren’s Blizzard”, chronicles experiences of families living in ten locations along the storm’s route extending from Canada down through the United States and resulting in the death of five Swiss Mennonite school children in the Freeman South Dakota area.

Students from Kansas Connections Academy got together for a field trip at the McPherson Museum and Arts Foundation on Feb. 24.
Jenee Clarise Enochs, 67, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, surrounded by family at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Aside from being a homemaker, Jenee was a daycare provider and worked in food service at McPherson College and at McPherson Hospital.
