Marcel Robert Tajchman, 84, of McPherson, KS. passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023 at his residence.
Linda Marie Chilson, 84, passed away on March 25, 2023 at McPherson Hospital in McPherson, KS. Linda was born on June 06, 1938 in McPherson, KS, the daughter of Eugene and Emma Marie (Hall) Shawly. Linda attended Lincoln Grade School, McPherson Park School and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, KS. Through the years, Linda worked as a homemaker. She was employed by Farmers Alliance. She then worked as a control clerk for NCRA for over 25 years until she retired. Linda enjoyed painting, drawing, gardening in her backyard, watching her flowers bloom, reading, shopping, fishing, camping, getting her hair done. She looked forward to meeting her friends for coffee and swimming. She loved being with her church family and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and family. Linda M. Shawly was united in marriage to Billy Gene Chilson on November 22, 1955 in Hutchinson, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in McPherson. This union was blessed with the birth of five children, Billy Jr., Jerry, Michael, Mitchell, and Shelley. Linda is survived by her children, Michael Chilson and wife Christy, of Indianapolis, IN, Shelley Koehn and husband Michael, of Halstead, KS; 18 grandchildren, Jonathan (Amanda), Jason (Ashley), Jared (Melissa), Megan (Matthew), Jordan (Sarah), Mary (Oliver), Michaela (Justin), Joel, Josiah, Malissa, Marcia, Micah, Job, Gracie, Justin (Jamie), Amy (Shawn), Brandon (Ariel) and Sarah; 19 great grandchildren; and her sister, Lodene Cooper of Magnolia, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy; her sons, Billy Jr., Jerry and Mitchell, and her brother, Bob Hall. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., March 31, 2023 , at Church of Christ, McPherson, KS, with Jason Fish officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, KS. Vernon D. Holloway was born in rural McPherson County to parents, Carl S.
Howard Milton Smith, 93, of McPherson, KS and formerly of Inman, KS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at The Cedars, McPherson. Howard served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. He retired from the maintenance department at NCRA Refinery where he worked for 34 years. Prior to the refinery, he worked for Santa Fe Railroad. Howard was born on March 2, 1930, in McPherson, KS, the son of Ray A. and Mildred Helen (Rump) Smith. He graduated from Inman High School in 1948. On February 11, 1951, Howard was united in marriage to Vivian Carol Briggs at the Andover Lutheran Church, Windom. Two children were born to this union, Perry and Norene. Howard and Vivian were married for 70 years prior to Her passing on July 23, 2021. He was a lifelong member of Andover Lutheran Church, Windom and associate member of Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson. Survivors include: a son, Dr. Perry Smith (Krista) of Great Bend, KS; a daughter, Norene Kerschen (Daniel) of Garden Plain, KS; seven grandchildren, Emily Pauly (Ethan), Jon Kerschen (Emily), Rachel Schmidt (Jeffrey), Keith Kerschen, Kim Hay (Marshall), Kelsey Sciacca (Adam), and Mason Smith; eleven greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Ray & Helen Smith; wife, Vivian Smith; brothers, John Smith and Glen Smith; sister, Gladys Meek; and twin sister, Helen Regehr. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, March 27, followed by a luncheon at Trinity Lutheran Church followed with Rev. Tim Leaf officiating. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, at North Inman Cemetery. Eloise (Wall) Shields, age 80, of Winona, MN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Lake Winona Manor in Winona. She was born on October 30, 1942, in Kansas City, MO, and was later adopted by Ernest and Eunice (Almén) Wall.
Delbert passed away Friday, March 17, 2023 while in the company of family and friends at McPherson Center for Health. He had attained the age of 93 years old.
