Both Collins and Baldwin were in Girl Scouts as children and both their mothers were Girl Scout leaders. Roosevelt Elementary teacher wins History Competition

Congratulations to Maegen Stucky, 5th grade teacher at Roosevelt Elementary in McPherson. Maegen has been selected as the Kansas Sons of the American Revolution Elementary History teacher of the year and will have her entry judged at the National level in Orlando, Florida this summer. She has for several years had her class participate in the SAR Elementary School History Poster Contest which highlights individuals and events of the Revolutionary War in a poster. The SAR hopes that doing so at the elementary level will inspire the 5th graders to have a hands on experience with the developments that led to and took place in the war for independence from England and King George.
