USD 418 Facilities Bond Election Falls Short
By USD 418 Board of Education “We are disappointed that the bond did not pass,and we know there is a lot of hard work ahead of us,” said Ann Elliott, President of the USD 418 Board of Education. “We remain committed to finding solutions to the challenges and needs our schools face. We urge our community to work together so that our schools are a source of pride for McPherson students and families for the next 50 years.
Music performance at The Cedars
Jean Kennedy and Brett Janssen are very accomplished musicians and they’re coming to The Cedars to perform for us. Jean is the guitar faculty at Central Christian College and McPherson College.
Kettle Queens Report
The Kettle Queens met May 11, 2023 at 7 p.m. at the home of Bonnie Kaufman. Seven members answered roll call with what are you looking forward to this summer and why. The Pledge of Allegiance and FCE Creed were spoken.
County Commission hears bond election results
In a short meeting Monday, May 15 Colleen Yarosh, McPherson County Deputy Clerk presented ballots for the May 9, 2023, USD 418 Bond Election canvass. There were 38 provisional ballots, 31 of which were able to be accepted and opened.

Young Eagle performs flyover
Rhylen Schmidt was flying high on All Schools Day. Schmidt was one of two interns from McPherson Airport to perform the traditional flyover to signal the start of the parade.

McPherson County Republican Committee hosts luncheon
During the All Schools Day Parade on May 12, you may have seen some United States Senators, Kansas Senators and Representatives. The McPherson County Republican Committee hosted a barbecue luncheon at the Community Building for the legislators to share what is going on in the state and nation.

Sheriff raising funds for K9 officers
The McPherson County Sheriff is raising funds for the three K9 officers in their employ. Proceeds go to cover shots, food, and other expenses over the allocated disbursement from McPherson County.
