With the help of a thrilling nine-inning walk-off win, the McPherson High School softball team can call themselves undefeated AVCTL Division III champions for the second straight season following a doubleheader sweep of previously one-loss Mulvane Monday evening at Grant Complex. Last season, the Lady Pups ran the gauntlet by achieving a perfect 10-0 record in league play to claim the AVCTL-III title.
Kelsi Chisholm, Moundridge Grades 6-12 Art Teacher shared some of the results from the 4-12 Art Show on April 24 and the McPherson County Art Show the week before. “Reese Schmidt earned 2nd place for the Senior Scholarship Award at the McPherson County Art Show,” Chisholm said.

For the first time in 36 years, a new face will head the Moundridge High School boys basketball team as previous McPherson assistant coach Dustan Kanitz has been selected to replace longtime and legendary coach Vance Unrau as the new head coach of the Wildcats.
As the 2023 spring sports season begins to hit the final stretch before regionals and state playoffs, the McPherson County area schools continue to roll with the exception of a little weather. Despite having three teams losing out on a track/field meet due to weather as well as a couple of match ups on the diamond, the week of April 24 – 30 remained busy with a few track/ field meets, five baseball doubleheaders and a couple of softball matchups.
