Leader in Independent Higher Education awards service and success scholarships across Kansas

The Kansas Independent College Foundation (KICF), on behalf of its member institutions, is proud to announce the 2023 Maud Wyatt Recognition Scholarship Recipients. These 19 recipients are all full-time, degree seeking students on the cusp of graduation, and have each demonstrated excellence in academics, character, and integrity.

MICHAEL LAVON HEITKOTTER

Michael Lavon Heitkotter, 37, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He worked at Mid-Kansas Coop for six years. Michael was born on December 13, 1985, in McPherson, KS, the son of Brinda Lynn Hall and Elvin Lavon “Skeeter” Heitkotter.

DAVON GLEN KNACKSTEDT

DaVon Glen Knackstedt Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on May 20, 2023, surrounded by family. He was born in Wichita, Kansas to parents Delmer and Glennys (Joan) Knackstedt (deceased) of Windom, Kansas on April 18, 1952.
