Lady Pups soccer claims 12 postseason honors
Deep postseason runs have become synonymous with the McPherson High School soccer programs, but despite falling short of the state semifinals in 2023, the Lady Pups names 12 girls to the AVCTL Division III and IV all-league teams.
Softball earns eleven spots on all-league teams
Despite falling short of a state title after an epic run through the 2023 class 4A state softball tournament, McPherson’s name was called 11 times when the AVCTL Division III postseason honors were announced.
MHS girls swim team break school records at state
TOPEKA, Kansas – The McPherson High School dove head first into the hiring of first-year girls swim coach Angela Brunk and the results produced big waves, as the Lady Pups swim team finished in a tie for 11th place at the 2023 class 5A-1A girls state swim meet on May 18 through May 20.
Bullpups honored for championship season
The final chapter of the 2023 high school baseball season ended in fairytale fashion once again for McPherson after a second straight state title was hoisted, but that championship came along with its fair share of all-league and all-state Bullpup players.

Two Receive AFA Scholarship
Sage Toews and Amber Smith both to receive the 2023 Agriculture Future of America (AFA) Scholarship for McPherson County! The scholarships are made possible by the McPherson Chamber of Commerce Ag Committee in partnership with Agriculture Future of America. The Chamber’s Agriculture Committee has raised funds to support the AFA Leader and Academic Scholarship for McPherson County since 2000.
