Schweitzers and Friends seeks volunteers

The celebration of the 150th anniversary of Mennonite ancestors coming to the United States in 1874 includes a musical drama- “A Goodly Heritage”.The musical is scheduled for performances on March 23 and 24, 2024.The celebration committee is searching for people who would like to take part in the celebration and play.The first informational meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 2 p.m.

Rates slated to increase

McPherson City Commissioners voted to approve rate increases for sewer and solid waste collection beginning January 1, 2024.Current sewer rates are:$18.00 base charge$2.50/Milligal or $1.795/100 Cubic Feet of water used$9.00/Pad for RV pads and $2.50/Milligal or $1.87/100 Cubic Feet of water used Proposed sewer rates:$20.00 base charge$2.50/Milligal or $1.795/100 Cubic Feet of water used$10.00/Pad for RV pads and $2.50/Milligal or $1.87/100 Cubic Feet of water usedBPU has indicated that we will be able to implement this change by January 1, 2024.The approved solid waste collection rates for 2024 reflect an increase by McPherson Area Solid Waste Utility (MASWU) to their base residential trash rates.

Muehler and Patterson lead Bullpup XC to state appearance

HUTCHINSON, Kansas – One medalist from each of the McPherson boys and girls cross country teams paved the way to a state berth Saturday morning, as the Bullpup boys and girls each took third place at regionals en route to qualifying for the class 4A state cross country meet on Saturday, October 28.A spot at state was on the mind of McPherson after meets leading up to regionals landed the Bullpups times that would be good enough to qualify for state.
