A mixer against Winfield proved to be a promising start for the McPherson Middle School wrestling team as the Bullpups have now navigated their way to a 4-1-1 record in duals to open the season.A total of nine Bullpups left the season-opening mixer against Winfield with an undefeated record, which then turned into a 54-54 tie against Wellington in McPherson’s first dual of the season.Against the Crusaders, nine Bullpups earned match victories including Carter Rinker in the 90-pound weight class, Madison Burkes Jr.

A near perfect start for the Bulldog men and a .500 start for the Bulldog women have highlighted the start of the 2023-2024 McPherson College basketball season, as both teams prepare for the Thanksgiving break.The McPherson College men’s basketball team started off the season in near perfect fashion after leaping out to a 5-0 record with wins over Benedictine College (70-61), Oklahoma Panhandle State (81-63), Central Christian College (79-65), Manhattan Christian (72-65) and Bethel (61-57).However, McPherson’s undefeated record came to a halt on Saturday, November 18 as the Bulldogs fell 70-66 on the road to Friends University despite scoring the game’s first 18 points.Following McPherson starting the game off with an 18-0 run, Friends responded with their own 11-0 run over the next one minute and 32 seconds of game time.
