Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, but it’s a time to recognize and remember those who have died performing their military duties serving in the United States Armed Forces.


A run at avenging last year’s state runner-up finish will have to wait another season for the McPherson High School softball team, as the Lady Pups fell 8-5 to Andale in the regional championship game on Tuesday, May 14 at Grant Sports Complex.One year removed from finishing in second place at the class 4A state softball tournament after losing 1-0 to Wamego, McPherson put itself in prime position to return to the state tournament and perhaps the title game by earning the No.
