INMAN, Kansas – The first year of the Lance Pfannenstiel era came to a close for the Inman High School baseball team on Friday, May 10 as the Teutons dropped a heartbreaking 5-4 game to Ell-Saline in the opening round of regionals to finish the season 8-11.Heading into the 2024 season, plenty of mystery surrounded Inman as the Teutons boasted a young roster and a first-year head coach.

SALINA, Kansas – With postseason play just around the corner, the McPherson High School softball team turned in one of its most impressive two-game performances of the season on Friday, May 3 by taking down 6A’s Junction City 9-3 and 5A’s Great Bend 6-0 to reach 20 wins on the season.Going into Friday’s quad alongside Junction City, Great Bend and Salina South, McPherson was riding a five-game winning streak and had just four losses on the season.
McPherson City Commissioners approved several proclamations at Tuesday’s meeting.Among the proclamations is May 7 as National Foster Care Day.
After receiving four days of rest following a stretch that included six games in six days, McPherson ran its winning streak to four games on Friday, May 3 by sweeping a quad with wins over Junction City and Salina South.During its six games in a six-day stretch last week, McPherson went 4-2 while winning the final two.
Two days removed from experiencing a heartbreaking 2-1 double overtime loss to rival Buhler on the road, the McPherson High School girls soccer team made amends by putting on a near perfect second-half display against Wichita Collegiate Thursday night in a 10-0 win over the Spartans.Following Tuesday’s loss to Buhler that also ended McPherson’s hopes at a league title, the Lady Pups were forced to regroup two days later to face Wichita Collegiate at home.
