It was a busy week again as the six McPherson County area small schools did their best to dodge weather events and close out their final full week of the 2024 spring season with seven track meets and 13 doubleheader softball or baseball games.As one reads this, the 2024 baseball and softball seasons will have closed out with Canton/Galva, Inman, Little River, and Smoky Valley softball teams all playing doubleheaders on Tuesday while the Smoky Valley baseball team put in one more set of games as well.On Thursday, the Smoky Valley track/field teams were scheduled to run/jump/threw at the Central Kansas League meet in Salina while the track/field athletes for Canton/Galva, Elyria Christian and Little River will be participating at the Wheat State League meet in Solomon.Friday, both Inman and Moundridge will have their track/field teams closing out the 2024 season at the Heart of America League meet in Moundridge.On Thursday, May 16, Canton/Galva, Elyria Christian, and Little River will be at their Class 1A State Regional Track/Field Meet in Greensburg while Moundridge and Inman will be in Class 2A State Regional Meet in Eureka on Thursday, May 16 as well.
