Bullpups show out at Shrine Bowl

EMPORIA, Kansas – The 51st annual Kansas Shrine Bowl took place at Emporia State University’s Welch Stadium for the sixth time in history and first time since 2016 as Team East defeated Team West 36-25 for their first victory in the event since 2018.In the middle of each summer, the annual Kansas Shrine Bowl takes place where all-star seniors across the state don their high school’s helmet one last time as they play for a nonprofit charity with all proceeds benefiting the Shriners Hospitals for Children – a cause that has now received over 3.8 million dollars from the Kansas Shrine Bowl.This year, two McPherson County players and one McPherson County coach participated in the event as all three represented Team West.

Bulldog men’s soccer releases 2024 schedule

In just over a month will mark the return of Bulldog soccer, as the McPherson College men’s soccer team announced its schedule for the upcoming 2024 season beginning on August 21.After a disappointing 2023 campaign ended with just a single tick in the win column for the Bulldogs, McPherson returns a number of young talent to the team as they are in search of a breakout season.Although McPherson won just one game in 2023, two games were decided by one goal while five other games ended in a tie.

16U and 18U Pups complete busy weekend

– It was a busy week for the two McPherson summer baseball teams with both the 18U and 16U teams playing in tournaments at separate locations, but the two teams finished with a combined 7-3 record which included a championship for the 16U Pups.16U Bullpups:In what is considered one of the biggest tournaments of the summer, the 16U Bullpups claimed their second title in a three-week span by winning the annual Salina Grand Slam tournament with a 7-5 victory over Hays in the championship game on Sunday.McPherson entered the tournament with a 9-3 record and with a title already underneath its belt after winning the annual Kaiden Schroeder tournament on Saturday, June 8.
