Lady Pups basketball concludes youth team camp

Although fans may have to wait until winter to see the Clint Kinnamon era of Lady Pup basketball to make its debut, the newly appointed head coach of the McPherson High School girls basketball team is already making waves by hosting summer basketball camps for the next generation of players.For the past 19 years, summer basketball camps and most girls basketball activities in the city of McPherson were conducted by former McPherson girls head coach Chris Strathman.

18U and 16U Pups complete successful weekend

The 18U and 16U McPherson summer baseball teams took to the diamond this past weekend at two separate venues as the 18U Pups delivered a 3-1 performance at the Clyde Jenkins tournament in Wellington while the 16U Pups went 2-2 at the Emporia State Showcase.18U Bullpups:The 18U McPherson team spent its weekend in Wellington after coming off a runner-up finish in the PBR Premier Super tournament in Kansas City the weekend prior.

Bullpup football completes summer camp

With fall rapidly approaching, the McPherson High School football team completed its summer team camp in preparation for the upcoming season as the Bullpups look to continue their string of success and remain a contender at the 4A level.The 2023 season for McPherson started with just a 1-2 record as losses to 5A’s Great Bend and 6A’s Junction City surrounded the Bullpups’ lone win against Augusta.

O’Dell addresses commission

McPherson County Commissioner for District 3, David O’Dell addressed the McPherson City Commission at Tuesday’s meeting,O’Dell started by saying that it’s no accident that McPherson County is one of the best places in our region to live and work - it is by design.“We’ve been blessed with many decades of strong leadership which has resulted in McPherson County being one of the most desirable places in Kansas to live, work, set up a business, and attract industry,” he said.O’Dell said that the word that he thinks of is momentum and that as county commissioner he wants to keep it going.
