Area roundup: County schools wrap up September

The month of September has finished and several fall sports such as volleyball and cross country are entering their final weeks of the 2024 season while football still has another six weeks to go.One thing we do know is that the six McPherson County area schools are battle tested and highly competitive.Examples would be the Inman Teuton football team that beat Remington Friday in a game that ran 116 offensive plays and rang up 916 yards in offense, including 614 on the ground.Or what about the Moundridge Wildcat football team that has made a seemingly easy adjustment going from eight-man football to eleven-man as they are now 3-0 and ranked seventh in Class 1A after routing Herington 76-6 on Friday.Speaking of ranked teams, the Little River athletes have a lot to be proud of as the football team is currently ranked third in 8-man, division I at 4-0 and the Lady Redskin volleyball team is looking to three-peat as Class 1A Division I state champions as they enter the month of October ranked first with a glistening record of 18-3.Let us not forget the Lady Teutons of Inman who are currently ranked first in Class 2A with a 21-1 record.
