Countryside RV, Boat and Self Storage Hosts Chamber Ribbon Cutting

The vision for Countryside RV, Boat and Self Storage began over a year ago when Tim and Jenny Cheatham purchased the property north of McPherson at 1638 16th Avenue, Tim told the crowd gathered for the new business’s Chamber Connection and Ribbon Cutting October 3rd.The Cheathams chose to build Countryside on the outskirts of town to accommodate large storage needs like RVs and boats.

Ek named officer

Laurie Ek has been named Mortgage Loan Officer at The Citizens State Bank in McPherson.Capping 16-1/2 years at Home State Bank, which changed its name to The Citizens State Bank this summer, Ek began as a teller and bookkeeper and then worked her way into the mortgage department in 2010, where she is looking forward to her new role.“I’m looking forward to learning even more in the real estate world,” Ek said.

Bullpup XC places three in top five at Newton

NEWTON, Kansas – Consistency continued to be the mantra for the McPherson High School track and field teams following Saturday’s meet at Newton’s Centennial Park, as three top-five finishes were turned in by the Bullpups.Throughout the 2024 season, McPherson has been anchored by a trio of runners – Caleb Muehler and Ethan Elder for the boys and Lexi Patterson for the girls.

Big second half gives Bullpups win over Rockets

ROSE HILL, Kansas – For the first time this season the McPherson High School football team has entered the above .500 club, as a strong second half from the Bullpups propelled them to their third victory of the season in a 35-26 win over Rose Hill Friday night.Heading into the game, McPherson held a 2-2 record with wins over Circle (28-14) and Winfield (29-23/OT), and losses to Great Bend (28-6) and Chanute (27-14).

Maturity shines for Bullpups in split week

A physical and chippy Tuesday night soccer match between McPherson and Rose Hill saw a plethora of penalties and yellow cards dished out throughout the 80 minutes of game time, but the Bullpups remain close to a breakthrough despite falling 2-1 to the Rockets.McPherson’s last outing came on Friday, September 27 when they lost 2-0 to 5A’s Newton on the road as the Bullpups dealt with illness on the team.
