McPherson Center for Health is pleased to announce an exciting expansion of services through the McPherson Health Department’s Title X Family Planning program, offering patients access to additional contraceptive options, including Nexplanon and IUDs (Intrauterine Devices), through a new collaboration with our Rural Health Clinic providers.As part of the Health Department’s ongoing commitment to improving reproductive health and access to affordable care, McPherson Center for Health is responding to growing patient interest in Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) methods.

Late surge not enough in Bulldogs’ loss to Braves

The McPherson College men’s basketball team returned home last Saturday to take on KCAC foe Ottawa inside of Holman Fieldhouse, but the Braves spoiled what would’ve been the Bulldogs’ first conference win as McPherson fell 85-82.McPherson is off to a 2-4 start in the 2024-2025 season and is currently in the midst of a three-game losing streak with all losses coming against KCAC opponents (89-86 loss to Southwestern, 72-65 loss to Kansas Wesleyan and 85-82 loss to Ottawa).

Spice Up Your Life is a weekly recipe column by Lindsey Young, who describes herself as an enthusiastic amateur cook and can be reached through her website at spiceupkitchen.net.In a blog post she entitled, “What’s the Deal with Hasselback Potatoes,” Nutritionist Tina Marinaccio explains that the dish, which features potatoes cut crosswise in thin slices that don’t quite cut the potato all the way through, hails from Sweden.It received its name, she says, from the tavern that created it: Hasselbacken.Regardless of its origin, if you haven’t tried hasselback potatoes, I highly recommend them.
