SALINA, Kansas – For a 15th time and an eighth under head coach Kurt Kinnamon, the McPherson High School boys basketball team took home the state title a week and a half ago by defeating Rock Creek 53-44 in the state championship game, but the victory was made possible by a special group of seniors. McPherson’s 15th state title two weekends ago was also its second in as many seasons, as the Bullpups claimed their 14th state title in 2024 with a thrilling 65-59 overtime win over Hugoton.
