CANTON, Kansas – After completing its first winning season since 2015 last year, the Canton-Galva High School baseball team is looking to build upon that success with a handful of players returning to compete in 2025.
Ball possession errors and a second-half surge hampered the McPherson High School girls soccer team’s chances at winning a championship on Friday, but the Lady Pups still walk away from the 19th annual McPherson Invitational with a second-place medal despite falling 5-0 to Maize South. McPherson went into Friday’s championship match with plenty of momentum after starting the tournament off with an 8-0 mercy-rule win over Wichita Collegiate on Monday and a 4-2 win over Topeka in the semifinals on Tuesday.
