Gerald (Jerry) Martin Kassin, age 87 of Overland

Park, KS passed away on September 24, 2022. Jerry was born October 19, 1934 in East Detroit, Michigan to Richard M. Kassin and Vivian Irene Martin Strauss. He was a veteran of the Korean war and served in the Air Force. He was a graduate of Central College in McPherson, Kansas. He spent his career in sales, working for Green’s Appliance and then he was Manager of Great Plains Credit Union (formerly Tip Top Credit Union) in McPherson, Kansas for 27 years. Jerry was appointed to the State of Kansas Credit Union Council by Governor Carlin in 1984. When he retired from the credit union in May 2000, he and his wife Marty relocated from Hutchinson, KS to Branson, MO where he enjoyed working in the glass shop at Silver Dollar City. He had a love for his dogs and cars, specifically the classic Ford Mustang. He spent many hours in the garage doing car restorations. Jerry is preceded in death by his wife Marty, his parents, and siblings Robert (Deatta) Kassin, Margaret (Lowell) Moldovan, Betty Jane Kassin and Stanley Kassin. Also, former wife Lillian Joan Brown Bush, mother of his children Cheryl (Gordon) Kassin Fischer and Steven (Cindy) Kassin. His wife Martha Annette Schmidt Kassin, daughters Stephanie (Tim) Fraas and Lexie (Brian) Barling. He was the proud grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of 4. He was a dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. In remembrance of Jerry’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Great Plains
