Central Christian College’s volleyball team surprised KCAC member Kansas Wesleyan in the first set of Saturday’s homecoming dual match, but the Coyotes came back to win the final three sets.

CCC won the first set 27-25, but the other outcomes went to the Coyotes, 25-13, 25-15 and 25-20.

“We played very well most of the match, distributed the ball and swung pretty smart,” CCC coach Mick Burrill said. “Our blocking was fantastic and we served strong. Our serve receive had ups and downs, we just came up a little short. Overall we are very pleased with our progress. We gave a great effort and lost to the better team today.”

Alayna Howell and Kendra Jackson had seven kills apiece, while Danielle Golladay led in digs with 21. Christin Tinius was tops in assists with 21.

CCC, now 3-21, hosts Haskell Wednesday.
