Three McPherson College student-athletes were honored Monday by the KCAC.
The Bulldogs had both the Offensive Player and Defensive Player of the Week winners in quarterback Shane Mascarenas and linebacker Will Powers.
Mascarenas threw for 498 yards and four touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ 56-42 victory over then-unbeaten Kansas Wesleyan. He was 24 of 43 and did not have a pass picked off.
Mascarenas has completed 122 of 192 passes for 1,995 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Powers was named the top defensive player for the second time in three weeks. He was in on 15 tackles, nine of them solo stops. He leads the team with 28 solo tackles and has been in on 45 overall.
Mac women’s soccer player Molly Whitwell was named KCAC Defensive Player of the Week. The sophomore goalie had a pair of shutouts last week against Bethel and Friends.
It was the second time Whitwell had been honored by the KCAC this year.
